Three Research Platforms
A career built in three stages
Building expertise, then influence, then platforms — across six institutions and three continents.
Beginning with the first national study of migrant dentists in Australia (PhD, University of Adelaide), carried forward through an Endeavour Fellowship at WHO Geneva and King's College London, and an NHMRC Sidney Sax Early Career Research Fellowship. Now anchored by a major national pharmacist migration research program (2026–2034).
Rooted in population research on older Australians at Adelaide, developed through a decade of ageing and aged care workforce research at Sydney, and now a funded international platform — an Arab-Australia ageing research partnership with King Abdulaziz University, and the Asia Pacific Aged Care Hub (APACH), a DFAT-funded fellowship program.
Founded to close a gap made visible across two earlier career stages: health systems serving complex, ageing, and culturally diverse populations lack intelligent decision-support. Now a funded program co-designing AI-enabled mental health support for older adults with international partners.

Served as Australia Lead on the multi-country WHO Health Practitioner Regulation Study, contributing to work that directly informed WHO's first-ever global guidance on health practitioner regulation, released September 2024. Teaching & Supervision
Educating at the interfaces of real power
Curriculum delivered inside the policy, regulatory, and governance systems students will go on to work in — not in simulation of them.
Health management graduates should leave not as competent operators of existing systems but as ethical reformers of them. Teaching and research are not separate activities — the classroom generates knowledge that feeds back into scholarship and policy.

Co-supervision links extend to King Abdulaziz University (Saudi Arabia) and Manipal Academy of Higher Education (India), part of a wider international mentorship network that has produced further postgraduate research enrolments.
Every candidate is placed inside a live research program, not alongside one — the research trains the researcher, and the platforms grow through the people they train.

Building institutions that outlast a term
Positional leadership, editorial leadership, and international institution-building — each converts into something the institution keeps.
Leads research capability for the Business School and shares leadership of 7 accredited programs across Australia, China and Singapore. Directed a full professional reaccreditation process across the program suite, achieving the maximum term available with multiple external commendations.
Lead Editor of two Q1 journal special issues — Health Care Management Review (transdisciplinary approaches to health and aged care management, 2026) and Frontiers in Public Health (older adult care across the Asia-Pacific, 2024). Serves on the editorial boards of BMC Health Services Research and Heliyon, and has completed 300+ peer reviews for journals including The Lancet, MJA and BMJ.
Led the groundwork for two international agreements — with the University of Hyderabad and the Administrative Staff College of India. Established ageing-research partnerships now active as global network nodes across the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
Finalist, IABCA Australia India Impact Award (Health & Aged Care Systems Impact), 2026; presented at the IABCA Roundtable, Parliament House, Canberra.
Fellow, International College of Dentists (FICD) — conferred by external nomination for service to the profession.
